About the role:

As the Lead DevOps engineer on the team, you will operate, monitor, and maintain high availability of software services for Superside's product running in a multi-region AWS cloud environment. You will build frameworks and tools to empower safe, developer-led changes, automate the manual steps and provide insight into our complex system. You will own the deployment pipeline and the whole AWS cloud infrastructure. You will design, write and deliver software and automation to drastically improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Superside. You will also be involved in planning and performing security patches on our application and underlying infrastructure.

We're looking for a talented, experienced and driven DevOps engineer to fit this role. In addition to the technical requirements, it is important that you are a hard-working team player, an independent decision-maker, and someone who is not afraid to challenge the established. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an on-call DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure- or Cloud Engineer
  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud services and how to leverage them for compute, storage, and managed services including, but not limited to, databases, managed Kubernetes, and Spring/Kotlin application services
  • Experienced with modern DevOps engineering practices and comfortable with diverse technical problem sets, across the entire technology stack, including the virtualized hardware
  • Versed in infrastructure as code practices using technologies like Terraform, etc.
  • Experience with Datadog or any other similar logging system
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving problems as well as customer conflicts in a customer-focused manner
  • Understand modern approaches to software security – and know what needs to be done to secure software systems and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Equipped with a proactive security mindset, and a solid understanding of information security and privacy principles
  • The ability to work well independently and in a team environment, follow procedures and adapt to new technology and situations.
  • Process and results-oriented with strong attention to detail

Back-end: Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot 2, Hibernate/AWS RDS/MySQL, Redisson/Redis, Junit for testing, ElasticSearch

Infrastructure: Terraform, AWS SQS/SNS, ECS, Cloudfront, Route53, EC2, S3, WAF, PageDuty, ParameterStore, ALB, Docker, Jenkins, Pusher, Mailgun
